Log — Achievement Communication KB
Append-only record of operations on this KB. Entries start with ## [YYYY-MM-DD] <op> | <summary> for easy grep/parsing.
Operations: init, ingest, query, lint, discover, schema-update.
[2026-04-21] init | KB scaffold created
[2026-04-23] discover | Seeded cold-start; 5 candidates proposed and approved
- Learning Heroes × Gallup — B-flation (2023)
- Chalkbeat — Illinois 2025 cut-score change
- Smarter Balanced × National PTA — parent reporting research index
- NGLC — Portrait of a Graduate in Practice
- ACT WorkKeys / NCRC toolkit (+ Arkansas DESE adopter page)
[2026-04-23] ingest | 5 sources → 7 entities, 3 concepts
[2026-04-23] discover | Gap-driven from existing follow-ups; 5 candidates proposed and approved
- SBAC × PTA 2022 Findings From Virtual Focus Groups Among Parents (the actual artifact behind the existing index page)
- NWEA MAP Growth family-facing materials (vendor coverage gap)
- SpacesEDU (PoG tooling gap)
- ACT Work Ready Communities adopter landscape (NCRC beyond Arkansas)
- HCM Strategists × Learning Heroes report-card redesign case study
[2026-04-23] ingest | 5 sources → 4 new entities, 2 source replacements
- New entities: NWEA, SpacesEDU, HCM Strategists, Edge Research.
- Replaced smarter-balanced-pta-parent-research.md (was index-page stub) with the actual 2022 PDF substance — the file slug is preserved so existing links keep working.
- Updates to existing entities: ACT (Work Ready Communities + LA/NY adopter detail), Arkansas DESE (now framed as the only K–12 NCRC integrator), Smarter Balanced, National PTA, Learning Heroes, NGLC.
- Updates to concepts: perception-gap.md (added teacher-side literacy frame), proficiency-bands-and-cut-scores.md (added NWEA scale-only as a third pattern), portrait-of-a-graduate.md (cross-link to SpacesEDU).
- overview.md refreshed.
Notable cross-source pattern surfaced (worth flagging here, not buried on a page): Edge Research conducted both the SBAC × PTA 2022 focus groups and the HCM/Learning Heroes multi-state report-card research — captured as its own entity page and noted in the overview tensions.
[2026-04-23] lint | Light voice-rule pass; overview reads current
- Removed SPEC-forbidden forwarding to
schema.mdopen-question numbers (#1,#3,#7) from SBAC×PTA and NWEA source pages. - Softened "in the wiki" / "in this KB" / "on this KB's question" self-references across ACT, Edge Research, HCM, SpacesEDU, and the WRC-adopters + HCM case-study sources.
- Dropped "Discover" vocabulary from the SpacesEDU entity page ("surfaced during Discover" → "identified but not yet profiled").
- Cleaned a stale follow-up on the NGLC PoG-in-Practice source that still listed SpacesEDU as a not-yet-ingested adjacent vendor.
- No contradictions, orphans, or stale analyses surfaced;
overview.mdstill matches current wiki state (no refresh needed).
[2026-04-29] assets | First image backfill — 2 demo-worthy visuals
wiki/assets/chalkbeat-illinois-cut-scores-2025/proficiency-ela.jpg— CPS retrospective ELA proficiency chart (the article's load-bearing visual). Embedded in Chalkbeat source page and cross-linked from proficiency bands and cut scores where the Illinois case is discussed.wiki/assets/nglc-portrait-graduate-practice/graduate-profiles-comparison.png— five-district PoG framework graphics shown side-by-side. Embedded in NGLC source page and cross-linked from Portrait of a Graduate concept.- Bar applied: each image carries data or visual range that prose can't compactly convey. Vendor product pages (NWEA, SpacesEDU, ACT) were skipped on this pass — their public pages serve lazy-loaded SVG placeholders rather than real assets, and the images we want (NCRC tier ladder, NWEA family report, SpacesEDU UI) need a different fetch path.
[2026-05-13] lint | Voice-rule cleanup pass — scrubbed KB self-reference
Comprehensive pass removing in-text self-reference, meta section headers, and Perspective-internal terminology that had accumulated across the wiki.
- Removed "the wiki", "this KB", "the wiki's evidence base" body phrases from overview.md, momentum-and-sentiment.md, national-pta.md, tony-sanders.md, and several source pages.
- Renamed
## Significancesections (9 pages) and## Why this matters(edge-research) to content-named headers — section titles now describe what the section is about, not its role in the wiki. - Reworded body lines that talked about wiki construction (e.g. "each could become its own entity page if a future source provides..." in nglc.md and nglc-portrait-graduate-practice.md) to describe the world instead.
- Replaced Perspective-internal terms in body and follow-ups: "ingested" → "surveyed/covered"; "not yet profiled" → "worth investigating"; "sources ingested to date" → softened or dropped.
- Renamed "What we know so far" → "The current landscape" and "What we don't know yet" → "Open questions" in overview.md.
Lint clean (0 orphans, 0 stale); graph unchanged (27 nodes, 96 edges).
[2026-05-13] people | First three person entries promoted from inline mentions
- Promoted three individuals quoted in the Chalkbeat Illinois cut-score source to their own
category: personentity pages: Tony Sanders, Robin Steans, Jessica Handy. No new source ingest — content reorganization only. - Backlinked the source page and the ISBE entity page so prior name-mentions now resolve to the person pages.
- Added a
## Peoplesection to index.md between Entities and Concepts. Files still live underwiki/entities/; surfaced as a peer category for readers per the SPEC's Index rule and the new Person pages subsection (platform-level SPEC change, in git). - Promotion bar applied: each had a distinct, sourced position in the Illinois 2025 cut-score debate (Sanders defending; Steans on missing comparison data; Handy on longitudinal continuity). Other sources ingested to date name no individuals at that bar.
[2026-04-23] query | Momentum and sentiment across the field
- Question: to what degree is there active momentum or interest in pursuing better solutions, and what sentiment shows up in the sources.
- Filed as analysis page. Claim: activity is broad and recent across advocacy, vendor, state-agency, credentialing, and EdTech actors, but almost no source measures whether what it shipped changed parent comprehension.
- Backlinks added from
overview.md,perception-gap.md, and the HCM × Learning Heroes source page (where the measurement-gap pattern is clearest).
